Saints Row 2 Community Roundup - Stilwater Gazette Issue 1

The official Saints Row 2 blog are running a new feature - the Stilwater Gazette. The Gazette basically summarizes the past weeks community goings-on, from user-videos to custom characters. I'd post some of the pictures and videos but I'd hate to steal the official blog's fire. So why not head on over to the official site for the first issue of the Stilwater Gazette.

Saints Row 2 has a feature called badges. Badges can be earned by completing certain tasks; there are 12 badges, and several other badges that are going to be revealed through the official blog each week. The badges are earned through ranked multiplayer matches.

OXM gives Saints Row 2 "Jewel of the Week"

The Official Xbox Magazine have given Saints Row 2 their "Jewel of the Week" award, and a 9/10. I have spent the weekend playing Saints Row 2 and I have to admit it's an exceptionally entertaining game; I should start putting up my walkthrough sometime this week; I want to complete the game first and then go over it again so it looks like I know what I'm doing and not just struggling through each mission!
More Saints Row 2 Reviews & UK Release

As even more reviews of Saints Row 2 come through, the UK release date is upon us. I for one will be purchasing my copy during my lunch hour at work in anticipation for this evening. I will be enjoying the spoils of the game this weekend before starting a comprehensive video and text guide to the game, so stay tuned for that.

Saints Row 2, cruise control

With Saints Row 2 out in North America on Wednesday, and Europe today there hasn't been much to report; presumably people are enjoying playing the game too damn much! Never the less the official Saints Row 2 blog have an interesting post about a new feature in the game; cruise control. The facility lets you embrace the environment (or look behind you and shoot someone in the face).

MSXbox-World.com have an interesting interview with Saints Row 2's lead developer; Scott Phillips. They talk a little about the original, features of the upcoming game and little about the future but all-in-all it's worth a look.
Q: Can the game steal any of GTA's thunder?
A: We feel that Saints Row 2 is an extremely strong competitor to every game out on the market place. The huge amount of variety, amazing gameplay and combat, unparalleled customization, and the best ever Open World Co-op make Saints Row 2 an extremely compelling and enjoyable game. Those features are just a very few of the enormous set that Saints Row 2 delivers and we can't wait for fans to get their hands on it.

Saints Row 2 Live Stream

Tomorrow marks the US launch date for Saints Row 2. To mark the occasion a collection of artists, programmers and producers will be hosting a live stream showcasing some of the games activities, missions and customization. I'll make sure that a link is posted tomorrow when the feed goes live.

Saints Row 2 PC?

Before I fell in love with all things Xbox 360 I was dead-set on purchasing Saints Row 2 for the PC. Over the past few months most of the Saints Row 2 buzz has related to either the PS3 or Sbox 360 versions of the game, and it wasn't until I read an article on StrategyInformer that I realised the PC version isn't due out this Friday (17th October 2008).
When StrategyInformer asked THQ, they were told;
“The PC version hasn't actually been dated at all so I can't actually comment on whether or not it has been delayed or not.”.
A bit of a shame for PC users, especially if you dont own a Xbox 360 or a PS3.
