Saints Row 2 Easter Egg Contest
Jul 23 2009, 07:57 by Mattze
The official Saints Row site is giving away a whole load of swag to anyone that can find one of the yet undiscovered Saints Row 2 easter eggs.
1. Your task is to find one specific Easter Egg which was planted into the game by a member of the development team. As of this point in time, I have never seen it documented, and I’ve looked at a ton of forums and YouTube videos. There are a LOT of Easter Eggs within Saints Row 2, but we’re looking for a very specific one. Not that this is not a glitch, this is something that was programmed into the game.
2. You have two weeks to look for and document the specific Easter Egg. If it has not been documented after the first week, I will begin to give out hints as to where to find it.
3. If you believe you have found the specific Easter Egg in question, post a comment in the thread below. Your post can contain any combination of text, pictures, or video. As long as you tell us what the exact Easter Egg is, along with the details surrounding how you found it or how you accomplished it, you can win. I will be following the thread and will try to keep running documentation in the first post with regard to what has been found already.
4. If no one documents the specific Easter Egg after two weeks time (by Noon CST on August 5th), the prize package will be given out to a random community member which has posted an Easter Egg in the comment thread. We will also provide a video on that date showcasing the specific Easter Egg.
I should point out that I know of at least three Easter Eggs which have not been documented as of this news posting. We’re looking for just one out of those three, but if the other two are found, I’ll figure out some sort of prize for those winners as well.

The prizes, as shown above, are as follows;
- SR2 Poster
- SR2 Basketball Jersey (Size XL)
- SR2 Tie
- SR2 License Plate Frame
- SR2 USB Gold Bullet (I believe it’s the 1 GB model)
- SR2 T-Shirt (Any size you’d like and comes with the V logo on the front)
- SR2 Temporary Tattoos
- SR1 Bandana

Saints Row 2 PC Setup Guide
Jan 6 2009, 09:58 by Mattze
The official Saints Row 2 blog have released a guide to setting up Saints Row 2 on your PC.
Step 1: Check your video card drivers. (FREE)
I can’t tell you how many people forget to do this, and then wonder why a specific game won’t run properly. Remember that you need to meet our requirements to play the game, or you’ll run into issues. You can find the minimum and recommended requirements HERE. There are many video cards out there, but the best way to update your card is to head to the official websites for each manufacturer. If you do not know what card you have, there are a few ways to find out.
The easiest way is begin by clicking on “Start” >> “Settings” >> “Control Panel”. Now, double click on the “System” icon, then select the “Hardware” tab at the top, followed by “Device Manager”. A new window will pop up, and you should open up the “Display adapters” section. Right there should be the manufacturer and model number of your video card.
NVIDIA owners, head HERE.
ATI owners, head HERE.
Follow the instructions on their website, and the proper selections will allow you to download the appropriate drivers for your system. You will have to restart your system for the changes to take effect.
Step 2: Download Steam and create an account. (FREE)
As has been stated within our forums, you will need to verify that you own a copy of Saints Row 2 PC through Steam. An internet connection is required for this initial verification, but after that you will have the option to “Play Offline”, unless you want to play Co-Op or Multiplayer.
You can download Steam by clicking HERE. Look for the green box on the left side which states “Get Steam Now - Free Download”.
Once installed, you will need to follow their instructions and create a unique username and password.
Step 3: (For Multiplayer/Co-Op) - Download GameSpy and create an account. (FREE)
If you never plan on playing Multiplayer, you will not need to have a GameSpy account. If you do plan on accessing multiplayer, just like with Steam above, you will need to download and install GameSpy so that you can grab the server browser software being used by SR2. GameSpy can be downloaded for free HERE.
Choose the “Ad Supported” selection for the free version. Just like with Steam, you will need to create a unique UserID and Password. I recommend using a different password than you did for Steam, for a little added security.
